Batting eyelashes at me.. :D

Living on the edge, in hope...

Off late I have been having more than my fair share of technical difficulties. First I was disconnected from the world when my phone died, leaving me with a useless broadband terminal and then when I was just getting back in the groove, my SMPS went berserk. The inability to get my system ON pisses me OFF even more than a one-off lame incident like the one in the previous post. In short the RAHU and KETU of my computer were pretty heavy this fortnight.. :D

Anyways, I went to buy a new SMPS today and spent the whole day at a friend's place. When I came back home in the evening, all chirpy, I entered my house. The first thing that I heard was... "An Autorikshaw has just exploded in Gaffar...possibly it was a CNG cylinder explosion"

I went on in my cynic self, fitting the SMPC in the cabinet of my CPU at the same time... "Ya...and they say CNG is bloody safe" Next thing I heard...breaking news... "Blast no. 2,3,4,5"

...bloody fuck...was I shocked..?? No...not more than my mother to say the least. She went on... "Kya haal ho gaya hai..ghar se nikalna bhi safe nahi hai ab to..!!"

I was just watching...with a cold, stern face...simultaneously fitting the SMPS as if it doesn't effect me. Not a single sign of emotional distress. A single frown..?? No...nothing. I was cold, I still am.

Explosions with sickening regularity and the live media coverage which (the media) by the way has no sense of explicitness...has somehow possibly killed the explosion-sensitive emotion in me...I had that "Ya its a daily affair" look on my face. Am I a victim too...?? Probably yes..may be the hidden agenda they conspire on us is the cold hearted acceptance of an outrageously unsafe society, vulnerable to chaos. Am I the only one to succumb to this numb-ification...? or am I just one amongst the millions...? Are these explosions the only contributors...?
People die under bloody Bluelines these days...some have BMWs and the license to kill as well. The value of life is diminishing.

There is no law...there is no order...We live in hope...hope of...?

i will put it this way.
The value of a life is nothing in India anymore.
If this was USA or Spain..y i name these???
well 9/11 has anything happened there afterwards..nothing.
3/11 has anything happened ..nothing.Why??
coz Govt. there values the lives of their people.Here...who cares.

Its shocking that I hv become quite immune to blasts and bloodshed news...I hv become a machine now...all cos of ongoing violence and war around my entire life so far. Its very sad! we hv become callous products of other ppl's insecurities.

@Mayz...yeah bro..It is sad indeed.. :(

@chaos..Hey..WC to my blog..
So are you suggesting.."killing many" would change things..?? :o
One thing is for sure..they really are sick..

Zubin said...

@Vikram

Hey..I was just having the same discussion with someone..US...Spain..and UK...they value life...
Here..the govt. value...votes..!!

@Keshi

And isn't that alarming..? We are changing..despite not being in direct contact with those explosions..like being part of a ripple...
Machine..??eh..??well..a gorgeous one at that..!! :p ;)

I don't wanna put up a fight here but it's we who need to add up to our lives and bring in order and law. Either become numb to all of this or choose to act..right here right now!
thanks for visiting my lifeyard...looking fwd 2 more ...
U'too have a nice blog :P

@Sachi..

Hey..there is nothing to fight about..I am a firm believer in 'doing it ourselves' as well.

What I am saying here is...that we do most thing in our consciousness..but some times are affected in unexpected manners in our subconscious as well...I am not saying we should give up..I am just asking...are we giving up unintentionally..in our subconscious...?

WC to my blog..thanks for liking it.. :p :)

Preeti said...

well numb is the operative word...

with it is also associated a kind of helplessness and vulnerability. i mean who knows where next...?
do you? do i? the blasts are happening and will continue to happen.

and what can we do, Sach..? what do you propose...? do you want to take law in your hands...? mobilize even 10 people for this cause and let's see.

this is the real thing...ok. i was there when bombay blew up, i was there when jaipur blew up and i was there when bangalore blew up...i know what happens to people during such catastrophes...i know what happened to me and my family...like i said once (to oxy i think)...

REALITY BITES AND SADLY SHE HAS VERY SHARP TEETH!!!!

"with it is also associated a kind of helplessness and vulnerability. i mean who knows where next...?

Exactly..you nailed it..

"i know what happened to me and my family"

:O..hey sweetz..what happened..?? Ok..lets not talk about that..I just hope..and pray everything gets right..

Yup..reality is the gravity that pulls us down...of all the highs.

Preeti said...

nothing serious happened...
it is just the sleepless nights and waking up at the slightest sound and heart-stopping experiences that friends went through...
it is not easy. to cope.
and what is more frustrating is when people say we have to 'do' something...? what do we do zubin...? what do we know about bombs and about people planning blasts...?
i know the police is trying their best. i see them toiling day and night. there are the khota sikkas...but there are the pure ones too.
im sorry...i just get a little worked up when it comes to this...

hmmnnn...

Zubin said...

@preeti...

Hmmm...must have been hard...but hey..you are a tough gal..ain't you.. ;)

And hey its ok..to be worked up..we all do...Its ok...everyone has a perspective...
The good thing is..that we all care.. :)

Waise...my concerns are not only about the blasts...the overall law and order situation especially here in Delhi and the NCR has gone worsened in recent months...people rob banks with fake toy guns these days.. :D..and then there were those robberies/murders on outskirts of Noida..and in delhi..in broad daylight.. :O

Zubin said...

"has gone worsened" :O

I meant.."has worsened".. :D

@ Zubin.
I know the feeling. I was in Delhi a few months back. I was out roaming the city with my cousin. We were at Chandni Chowk when we got the news that there's a bomb reported at the metro station. It turned out to be a hoax, but I remember how my cousin, a guy who's spent his whole life there, was freaking out, and I was calm, walking as though there's not a care in the world.

I think it's (the numbness, that is) worse in those of us living in cities where these blasts are more common.

Che said...

this numbness or indifference is our new defence mechanism. just pretend nothing is wrong and the problems will go away.

Yes darwin we are indeed evolving.

Raka said...

it is the reaction that those bastards need....its better we remain indifferent and not let fear creep in..its own only defence

Just close your eyes and hide your face like an Ostrich ... like the rest of...

okay ... may be not but...unfortunately at times our voice amongst these noises do get lost... mainly because most of us/them... don't care..It is disappointing..... and very frustrating... =/ but its the fact.

I wish something could be done too... but at the same time it should not dampen your spirit as no matter what...

If may I quote Einstein,
*Life is like a bicycle... in order to keep your balance you need to move ahead*..

and so everybody wants move ahead ... in the end its a bloody race....

My first time here...and true what you ask....Hope for...but when in doubt refer to history...there have been many dark ages and glorious years....we are the present of the future history that will be written about this dark period

About the meet..Well..I have missed it...It rained today...and the meet was at Nehru Place..It would have taken me..2 hours to reach there..and at that time..jams and waterlogged roads..I decided to give it a miss.. :)

Yeah..I heard the news..It was even more lethal than the Delhi ones..

@Ceedy:
You are right but hey...we can't leave things expecting them to be the part of history of the future...in the hope that future will learn from us...How much did we learn from our past..?
..and hey..WC here.. :)
